IF YOU ARE A PATIENT REGISTERED AT THIS PRACTICE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HELP THE HERTSMERE COMMISSIONING GROUP TO SPEND NHS MONEY WISELY ON THE SERVICES THAT YOU NEED

What is Hertsmere Commissioning?
Hertsmere Commissioning has one main focus, which is to make sure that the patients in Hertsmere can access the best possible health care. We are responsible for the purchasing and designing health services that best meet the needs of the people of Hertsmere. Little Bushey Surgery is part of this group.

How can you help?
There are three ways that you can get involved:

1. We have set up a Hertsmere Commissioning Patient and Public Involvement group. At the moment the group meets for a couple of hours in the evening once a month. The group is quite small but we would like more people to get involved. You do not have to be ill or a regular user of health services. We need people worth all sorts of skills to get involved. For example we welcome people who are prepared to read information, people who can understand data, people who are prepared to contribute to committees and people who are just passionate about improving health services.

2. We would like to develop a bank of people that we can call on who have experience of using health services for long term conditions. This would mean you registering with us (we would simply need a contact address or e-mail address and details of which services you regularly use). By doing this we will be able to ask people who actually use the services about their experiences when we are evaluating or reviewing those services.

3. We would like people who are generally interested in their local health services to register as public members with us. We don’t really expect you to do anything other than give us your contact details and we will keep you informed periodically about out work. If at some point in the future you think you would like to be more involved then you can and that would be great.
