Out of hours help

The Doctors are supported by a team of well-trained staff consisting of six part-time receptionists: Deborah, Sue, Jane, Julie, Jackie and Catherine. These highly skilled ladies (not dragons) work on a shift basis to cover the surgery opening hours of 08:30 - 18:30.

The surgery is closed for lunch from 12:30pm to 1:15pm. If advice is needed during this time call NHS direct on 0845 4647.

Frances, the Practice Manager, works from 8:30 am to 3.00 pm. If you have any problems with the way the surgery runs, please let her know. If you find you are having problems with either the way the surgery is run or with the Out-of-hours service, we run our own surgery complaints procedure so ask Frances to sort things out for you.

Marilyn, the Secretary, works each morning. Please contact Marilyn with any queries regarding referral letters.

Julie our Nurse Practitioner is fully trained in the treatment of both 'minor illnesses' including common infectious illnesses, and ongoing long-term conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and asthma. It is sometimes a more effective use of your time to see the Nurse Practitioner instead of waiting for one of the doctors. Julie is able to issue prescriptions.

Lili is our very valued and multi-talented practice nurse. Lili maintains the excellent standards of nursing care, and is charged with making sure that the levels of immunisations and cervical smears remain high. She has undergone additional training for contraception and travel vaccinations.

Lynne Parker, our attached Health Visitor, and her assistant Brenda supervises the care of the under 5s at the surgery. As well as the normal baby clinics, Lynne runs parenting groups and provides home visits to help improve and support parents, particularly those with vulnerable children and their families.

The District Midwife, District Nurses, Counsellor Phlebotomist, Physiotherapist are all available through reception.
